Those indulging against Sovereignty of Bharat will not be spared: Kavinder
3/12/2025 10:40:09 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 12: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta has welcomed the Centre's decision to ban the Awami Action Committee (AAC) and Jammu and Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen (JKIM) for five years under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Calling it a bold and necessary step, he said the ban reflects the Central Government's firm resolve to uproot terrorism and separatist activities from Jammu and Kashmir.
He was speaking while chairing a meeting with senior leaders at the Party Headquarters in Jammu.
The BJP stalwart stated that these organizations have long been involved in anti-national activities, inciting violence, and promoting separatist agendas at the behest of Pakistan. He emphasized that the BJP-led central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, and this ban is a significant move in that direction.
The senior BJP leader pointed out that the Awami Action Committee, headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and the JKIM, led by Masroor Abbas Ansari, have been instrumental in fuelling unrest and radicalizing youth in the region. "For decades, these groups misled innocent Kashmiris, acted as mouthpieces of separatists, and supported elements that posed a serious threat to the unity and integrity of the nation," he asserted.
Kavinder further added that with this move, the government has sent a clear message that any organization or individual found indulging in activities against the sovereignty of Bharat will not be spared. "This ban is a step towards ensuring lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir and protecting its people from the influence of divisive forces," he said.
The former deputy Chief Minister also lauded Home Minister Amit Shah for his firm stand against such anti-national organizations and urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to support the Modi government's efforts in restoring peace and stability in the region. He reaffirmed that the BJP remains committed to the welfare of the people and will continue to take strong measures against those who threaten national security.
