Ratnuchak Military Station organizes Breast Cancer Awareness Camp

RATNUCHAK, Mar 12: In a dedicated effort to promote women's health and well-being, Ratnuchak Military Station organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Camp on the eve of International Women's Day 2025. The event, conducted in collaboration with the team of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, aimed to educate and empower women about early detection, prevention, and treatment of breast cancer, reinforcing the importance of regular screenings and self-examinations.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from women across the military community, including families of service personnel, officers, and civilian staff. A team of expert oncologists and medical professionals from Government Medical College, Jammu conducted informative sessions on breast cancer awareness, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications that can help in prevention. Free screening tests and consultations were also provided to attendees.
Ratnuchak Military Station, emphasized the significance of proactive healthcare and early detection. "Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women, but with timely detection and awareness, it is highly treatable. This initiative, in collaboration with GMC, Jammu, is a step towards ensuring that our community is well-informed and proactive about their health.
The event also featured interactive Q&A sessions, personal survivor testimonials, and distribution of educational material to spread awareness beyond the camp. The initiative was well-received, reinforcing the military station's commitment to the health and welfare of its personnel and their families.
