JAMMU, Mar 12: Jammu Municipal Corporation today organized Public Samvaad to Enhance Citizen Participation in Development.
Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today organized a Public Samvaad at Marble Market, Trikuta Nagar (Ward No. 52,53&54) to encourage public participation in developmental activities and ensure the effective implementation of various government schemes for the citizens of Jammu.
The event was attended by MLA Jammu South, S. Narinder Singh Raina, MLA Bahu , Vikram Singh Randhawa ,Commissioner, JMC, Dr. Devansh Yadav, who actively engaged with the public to address their grievances and suggestions. Several prominent citizens ex deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billowria, ex corporators, Swachhata Champions, Ambassadors, and members of the public participated in the interactive session.
During the Samvaad, various urban development and civic issues were discussed which include restructuring of nallas for management water logging issues during rains, preparation of Ward Development Work Plans regarding drainage in respective wards, street Lighting Improvements, public Roads & Parks Maintenance, water Supply Concerns, and enhancement of Essential Urban Amenities.
The Commissioner emphasized the importance of public feedback so that budgetary provisions for essential projects be kept in the upcoming budget of 2025.He assured that issues of public importance like drainage,lane drain construction and sanitation shall be taken on priority.
The event emphasized collaborative governance, allowing citizens to voice their concerns directly to the authorities. The Commissioner reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring improved urban infrastructure, better public services, and active public participation in the city's development.
