JAMMU, Mar 12: Additional District Magistrate Jammu, Ansuya Jamwal conducted a market inspection in the Talab Khatikan area of Jammu city in view of the ongoing Ramzan celebrations. During the visit, shopkeepers were instructed to maintain hygiene, display proper rate lists and follow set protocols to ensure public convenience and safety. Officials emphasised that these measures are necessary to avoid penalties.
The shopkeepers were also advised to update their requisite licenses and registrations with the relevant departments, including Food Safety, Food & Civil Supplies and the Labour Department.
The ADM interacted with locals and the president of the bazar association to enquire about their requirements and grievances. She also inspected the construction work of Markazi Jamia Masjid and reviewed the arrangements for public gatherings.
Further, she directed Jammu Municipal Corporation officials to remove encroachments from public areas and ensure proper cleanliness in the market, including the clearing of garbage. Those who accompanied her during the inspection included Tehsildar Paramdeep Singh, AD Food Santosh Kumar besides other officers.
The district administration has urged businesses to comply with regulations to ensure a smooth and safe shopping experience for the public during Ramzan.
