| Over 10,000 Jammu pilgrims took holy dip in river Ganga | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 15: A two day long religious congregation and ceremonies organized by Jammu Yatri Bhawan at Haridwar, in connection with Baisakhi festival, concluded late last night, with chanting of Vedic hymens by prominent religious preachers. As per press release about 10,000 people from Jammu region visited the holy place of Haridwar, to have holy dip in the sacred river Ganga and attend the religious ceremonies. The President Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, Pawan Kumar Shastri, along with number of activists look after the well being and providing necessary facilities to the visiting devotees from Jammu. A hawan, yagya, chanting of religious songs and pravachans by religious scholars were held. Round the clock langar was also organized and as many as 20,000 people were served free meals and Prasad.
Jammu Yatri Bhawans at Haridwar has 150 commodious rooms, with all the modern facilities and attached sanitary bathrooms. Besides accommodation is provided to the pilgrims, mainly from J&K, in the halls and dormitories, while during the rush many devotees sleep at night in the open, since the Ashram has specious premises. Bedding is also provided to the pilgrims by the management of the bhawan. A modern kitchen, commodious dinning hall with the capacity for 400 people to take meals at time has been setup in the premises. Besides there is a library having good number of religious books and magazines. Medical facilities are also available to the visiting pilgrims in the attached dispensary the release added.
