Jammu Marathon 2025: J&K Police Hosts Grand Event with Over 3000 Participants

Jammu, Mar 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully organized the "Jammu Marathon 2025 Run for Fun" under its Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 3000 athletes from different states, including schoolchildren, veterans, and fitness enthusiasts.
The marathon featured nine categories, catering to different age groups and fitness levels. The race distances included a 21-km half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, 4 km, and 2 km fun run. The 21-km route extended from Gulshan Ground to Hill View Honda near Bajalta Crossing, while shorter races were organized within city limits.

10 km Road Race (Women, 18+)

1st: Parveen Kumar (Chenani, Udhampur)

10 km Veterans Race (Men, 45+)
1st: Joga Singh (Ludhiana, Punjab)

Youngest Female: Nanshika Rajput (5 years old)
Youngest Male: Priyansh Singh Saini (4 years old)
Oldest Female: Amrit Kour (63 years old)
Oldest Male: Angrez Singh (72 years old)
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Shri M.K. Sinha, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Headquarters/Coordination PHQ, J&K, as the Chief Guest. Senior police officers and retired officials awarded medals, certificates, and cash prizes worth ₹1,84,000 to the winners.
In his address, ADGP Sinha praised the massive participation and emphasized the role of sports in keeping youth away from drug abuse and negative influences. He reiterated that such events foster community engagement and healthy lifestyles.
The marathon was flagged off by Shri Anand Jain, IPS, ADGP Armed Police J&K, along with senior officials, including:
