Poonch, Apr15- As many as 369 of the 373 polling parties were dispatched to respective polling stations from here today. Four polling parties deployed for election duty in far off areas like Hill Kaka in Haveli and Murah in Surankote tehsil were sent to their respective destinations a day earlier on Tuesday.
The polling parties, along with election-related material including EVMs, were sent off in presence of District Election Officer (DEO), Poonch, Mohammad Afzal, today.
With a view to ensuring free, fair, and transparent polls, the District Election Officer has appointed more Sectoral Magistrates to monitor sensitive polling stations. With this, the total number of Sectoral Magistrates has gone up to 36. Besides, 11 Zonal Magistrates have already been deployed for election duty.
Meanwhile, Election Observer for Poonch, Anurag Yadav, on Tuesday appointed 17 Micro Observers to ensure transparent conduct of polling process.
