JAMMU, Mar 17: The Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, inaugurated its much-anticipated Reading/Literary Club with a stimulating book review event in the college smart classroom. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, fostering a vibrant literary culture.
Presided over by Prof. Archana Bakshi, Convenor of the Literary Club and Head of the English Department, the event was graced by the presence of esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Anuradha Seth (Librarian), Dr. Bindu Chib (HOD Hindi), Dr. Tarsem (HOD Dogri), Dr. Vipin, and Dr. Jasmeet. The session aimed to promote critical thinking, literary appreciation, and deeper engagement with diverse literary works.
Dr. Anuradha Seth delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of literary discussions in today's fast-paced world. The event was anchored by Palshin Dutta, who kept the session lively and engaging. A total of 25 students, along with distinguished professors, participated by sharing their critical reviews and interpretations of literary works spanning various genres, cultures, and historical periods.
Participants showcased their analytical prowess and creative expression, making the session both insightful and thought-provoking. The discussions were enriched by expert perspectives from faculty members, who provided academic depth and contextual clarity to the literary interpretations.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a token of appreciation presented to the participants by the Literary Club Coordinator. The success of the event marked a significant step towards GCW Gandhi Nagar's commitment to holistic education, providing students with a dynamic platform to express themselves, discover new ideas, and develop a keen literary acumen.
