The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sham Singh, HOD Geology and NCORD Cell Convenor, who briefed the audience about the objectives of the event and the critical importance of raising awareness about drug abuse. He emphasized the necessity of parental and teacher intervention in guiding students toward a drug-free future.
The resource persons, Mushtaq Ahmad Parray and Rayees Ahmad, delivered insightful lectures. Mushtaq Ahmad Parray remarked, "Parents and teachers are the first line of defense in preventing substance abuse. Open communication, early intervention, and a nurturing environment are essential in steering children away from addiction." Rayees Ahmad added, "Educational institutions must work hand in hand with families to build awareness and resilience among young minds. Providing emotional support and proper guidance can significantly reduce the risk of substance abuse among students."
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal applauded the efforts of the NCORD Cell in organizing the programme. He remarked, "Such initiatives are pivotal in nurturing a generation that is aware, responsible, and resilient against societal evils like drug abuse."
