Senior Citizens Joy Society inaugurated in Channi Himmat

JAMMU, Mar 19: The Senior Citizens Joy Society (SCJS), Channi Himmat, was officially inaugurated today by Vikram Randhawa, MLA, Bahu, Jammu. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of I.D. Soni, a noted educationist, social activist, and philanthropist, as the Guest of Honour, along with K.S. Samyal, President of the Senior Citizens Rejuvenation Centre, as the Special Invitee.
SCJS, an initiative under the aegis of Vichar Kranti Manch International (VKMI), aims to enhance the well-being and active engagement of senior citizens. On this significant occasion, Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, State Yoga Commissioner, was unanimously nominated as Chairman and Advisor of SCJS. Shri Ashok Gupta, Founder and Managing Trustee, assumed the role of President, while Ashok Khazuria, President of Shivalik Bharat Vikas Parishad, was appointed as General Secretary. Narinder Wadhera took charge as Treasurer.
Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain welcomed the dignitaries and participants, introducing the newly constituted executive body of SCJS, which includes:

Elaborating on the objectives of SCJS, Ashok Gupta outlined various initiatives, including:
Day Care Centre: A dedicated space for seniors to engage in recreational and social activities.
Health Check-ups and Medical Support: Regular medical monitoring and preventive screenings.
Recreational and Cultural Activities: Organizing tours, picnics, and cultural programs for mental well-being.
Counseling and Emotional Support: Addressing psychological needs through professional counseling.
Fitness and Yoga Sessions: Promoting health through regular fitness programs and yoga.
Awareness and Advocacy Programs: Educating seniors on their rights and welfare schemes.
Addressing the gathering, Vikram Randhawa congratulated the SCJS team and assured full support, including assistance in securing suitable land for the society's office. I.D. Soni lauded the initiative and encouraged active participation from senior citizens, while K.S. Samyal added a spiritual touch to the event by reciting a bhajan.
A proud moment was marked by the felicitation of Sunita Mahajan on her appointment as a National Executive Member of Mahila Sahbhagita. The event also celebrated the birthdays of Anju Bansal, Anita Baru, and Narinder Wadhera.
C.M. Sharma highlighted the importance of such initiatives, while Ashok Khazuria skillfully conducted the proceedings. The event was observed by Vikram Randhawa and Arun Sharma, Regional General Secretary, Bharat Vikas Parishad, who appreciated SCJS's efforts in fostering a positive environment for senior citizens.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks and the rendition of the National Anthem, marking a successful beginning for SCJS in its mission to support and engage senior citizens.
