JAMMU, APRIL 15: The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone today constituted 13 House Committees for the year 2009-10.
As per the notifications issued by the Assembly Secretariat today, the Members nominated for “General Purpose Committee” under the Chairmanship of Speaker would be Deputy Speaker, Chairman PAC, Chairman PUC, Chairman Estimates Committee, Ms. Mehbooba Mufti, Moulvi Iftikhar Hussian Ansari, Mr. G. M. Saroori, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, Mr. Zulifikar Ali and Mr. Charanjit Singh.
Similarly, “A Committee on Environment” headed by Mr. Nizam-ud-Din Bhat would have Mr. Radhey Sham Sharma, Mr. Rafi Ahmad Mir, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Ms. Shamima Firdous, Mrs. Bimla Luthra, Mr. Durga Dass, Mr. Krishan Chand, Mr. Javid Ahmad Dar, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani, Mr. Sukhnandan Kumar, Mrs. Indu Pawar and Mr. Baldev Raj as its Members.
Another “House Committee” under the chairmanship of Speaker would have Ch. Mohammad Aslam, Mr. Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Mr. Hakim Mohammad Yasin, Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Mr. Abdul Majid Wani, Mr. Yash Paul Kundal, Mr. Sajad Ahmad Kitchloo, Mr. Tsetan Namgyal, Mr. Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and Mr. Durga Dass as Members.
Likewise, the “Ethics Committee” under the chairmanship of Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir will have Mr. A. R. Veeri, Mr. Kafil-ur-Rehman, Mr. Mohammad Khalil Band, Mr. Rafi Ahmad Mir, Mrs. Bimla Luthra, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Ganai, Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani, Mr. Krishan Chand, Mr. Bharat Bhushan, Mr. Baldev Raj, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Jan, Ch. Sham Lal and Mr. Lal Chand as Members.
The “Committee on Government Assurances” under the Chairmanship of Mr. M. Y. Tarigami would have Mr. Mubarak Gul, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik, Mr. Raman Bhalla, Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari, Mr. Mohammad Irfan Shah, Er. Sheikh Abdul Rashid and Mr. Bharat Bhushan as Members.
The “Library Committee” will be chaired by Speaker and will have Ms. Mehbooba Mufti, Mr. Radhey Sham Sharma, Syed Bashir Ahmad, Mr. Javid Ahmad Dar, Mr. Abdul Haq Khan, Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat, Peer Afaq Ahmad, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Jan, Mr. Lal Chand and Mr. Charanjit Singh as Members.
The “Committee on Public Undertakings” will be headed by Mr. A. R. Veeri and will have Mir Saifullah, Ms. Sakina Ittoo, Mr. G. M. Saroori, Mr. Abdul Gaffar Sofi, Mr. Yashpaul Kundal, Mr. Jugal Kishore, Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani, Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani and Mr. Feroz Ahmad Khan as Members.
The “Committee on Petitions” will be chaired by Mr. Ashok Khajuria has been constituted with Mr. Rafiq Hussain Khan, Mr. Kafeel ur Rehman, Ms. Sakina Itoo, Ch. Aijaz Ahmed khan, Mr. Javed Mustafa Mir, Mr. Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, Mr. Jugal Kishore, Mr. Feroz Ahmed Khan, Mr. Abdul Razaq Wagay and Mr. Sukhnandan Kumar as Members.
Members nominated for “Rules Committee” would be Ch. Mohammad Ramzan, Mr. Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir, Mr. Harshdev Singh, Syed Aga Rohullah Mehdi, Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Shah and Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan while as Speaker will be its Chairman.
Similarly, “Committee on Subordinate Legislation” would have Ch. Mohammad Ramzan as its chairman while as Ch. Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Mr. Tsetan Namgyal, Mr. Mohammad Irfan Shah, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Mr. Jagdish Raj Sapolia, Mr. Ashok Kumar and Mrs. Indu Pawar would be the members.
“Committee on Privileges” has been constituted with Mr. Mubarak Ahmad Gul as its chairman while as Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon, Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Ganai, Peer Afaq Ahmad, Mr. Sham Lal Choudhary, Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani and Er. Sheikh Abdul Rashid would be the members.
In relaxation of provisions contained in the Regulations for Conduct of Elections to the Committees of the House according to the Principal of Proportional representation by means of single transferable vote, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly has declared Ch. Mohammad Ramzan as chairman of Committee on Public Accounts while as Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Mr. G. A. Mir, Mr. Abdul Majid Wani, Syed Bashir Ahmad, Mr. Mohammad Khalil Band, Mr. Jagdish Raj Sapolia, Mr. Rachpal Singh, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Mtr. Shamima Firdous and Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani as members of the Committee.
“Committee on Estimates” with Raman Bhalla as Chairman would have Hakim Mohammad Yasin, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik, Mr. Qmer Ali Akhoon, Mr. Sajad Ahmad Kitchloo, Mr. Javid Mustafa Mir, Aga Syed Rohullah Mehdi, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Mr. Ashok Khajuria, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma and Mr. Abdul Haq Khan as members.
