J&K High Court Bar Association bids farewell to Justice Atul Sreedharan

JAMMU, Mar 20: Today on 20th March, 2025, a Farewell Function was organized by J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu to bid Farewell to Hon'ble Justice Atul Sreedharan, on account of His Lordships transfer from High Court of Jammu & Kashmir & Ladakh to High Court of Madhya Pradesh.
The Function started with the presentation of bouquet and shawl to honour Justice Atul Sreedharan. This apart, memento was presented to Justice Atul Sreedharan by the team of office bearers led by K. Nirmal Kotwal (President), besides, S. Baldev Singh (Vice President), Pardeep Majotra (General Secretary), Anshu Mahajan (Joint Secretary), Rahul Aggarwal (Treasurer).
Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan and Hon'ble Mr. Justice Atul Sreedharan also addressed the august gathering in the farewell function. Apart from this Learned Members of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Judges of District Judiciary and J&K Special Tribunal also participated in the farewell function.
While addressing the august gathering, President K. Nirmal Kotwal, Advocate said that Justice Atul Sreedharan has remarkable sense of Justice and fairness combined with simplicity, brilliance and respect towards lawyers has been his hallmarks as a Judge of High Court. Kotwal further stated that Justice Atul Sreedharan always treated all the lawyers equally and respectfully during the course of proceedings in Court which qualities of His Lordship was admired by all the members of the Association. Kotwal further stated that Hon'ble Mr. Justice Atul Sreedharan has done his utmost efforts to clear the pendency in the High Court. Kotwal also expressed his grave concern to the challenges being faced by the institution of the judiciary, from within and outside the institution, for upholding its independence.
While addressing the august gathering the Justice Atul Sreedharan in his short speech lauded the role of legal fraternity of J&K as also the role played by the members of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu in extending their sincere cooperation and assistance in conducting the court proceedings. He very candidly expressed his gratitude to the cooperation received by him from his colleagues as well as members of the Bar Association.
Pardeep Majotra, General Secretary thanked all the participants and compared the proceedings of the function and lauded the role of the Hon'ble Judge during his service tenure in the U.T. of Jammu & Kashmir.
