Ramnagar, Mar 20: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar successfully organized a thrilling T-10 Cricket Match between Male Students and Male Staff under the Fit India Initiative. The event was organized under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal, GDC Ramnagar, with the aim of promoting physical fitness and a spirit of sportsmanship among students and faculty members.
The Male Students’ team won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Male Staff team set a target of 88 runs, with Prof. Manmohan Singh emerging as the highest scorer, contributing 36 runs.
In response, the Male Students’ team successfully chased the target, scoring 89 runs, with Ansh being the highest run-scorer with 26 runs. Prof. Manmohan Singh was adjudged Man of the Match for his outstanding performance, being the highest run-scorer (36 runs) and the leading wicket-taker (3 wickets).
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal congratulated both teams for their spirited participation and emphasized the significance of sports in maintaining physical and mental well-being. He remarked, “Sports and physical activities are crucial for fostering teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle. Initiatives like these not only enhance fitness levels but also create a positive and engaging atmosphere in the institution.”
The match was efficiently organized by the Sports Committee of the college, comprising Dr. Pankaj Sharma (Convenor), Dr. Kewal Kumar (Co-convenor), Dr. Dinesh Kumar (Physical Director), Prof. Sumita Rao, Prof. Manmohan Singh, and Prof. Nazakit Hussain. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with a large number of students and faculty members attending to cheer for the teams.
The match concluded on a high note, reinforcing the college’s commitment to promoting fitness and holistic development among its students and staff.
