3/23/2025 10:35:05 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 23: Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) organized its 8th Subsidy Ration Distribution Camp today, alongside an interactive session with the Engineering Wing of PHE Division Jammu. The event aimed to facilitate ration distribution at subsidized rates and assist residents with water bill payments and service-related queries.
TNWS President Mr. Rajinder P. Kakkar inaugurated the camp, where NCCF-sponsored Bharat Atta, Rice, and Chana Dal were distributed to the residents of Trikuta Nagar Colony at subsidized rates.
A dedicated team from PHE Division Jammu, led by Er. Arun Kumar (AEE) and Er. Abhinash Sharma (JE), participated in the camp, along with their revenue collection team. They set up a digital system to update customer records, process bill payments on the spot, and issue receipts to those clearing their dues.
During the session, AEE Arun Kumar introduced the department’s online portal, enabling residents to make water bill payments from home. He also assured that drinking water supply in Trikuta Nagar Colony would be improved, announcing that a new tube well is planned for Sector 8, Ward 54, under the Chief Engineer’s direction. A project report for the tube well will be submitted in April 2025 under the Capex Plan. He also noted that the colony ideally requires two new wells to meet its growing population’s demands.
Residents were informed that outstanding water bills can be cleared in easy installments of up to Rs 1,000 per month, with no mandatory lump sum payment, provided they register on the PHE portal.
The event saw active participation from prominent residents and guests, including Dr. Sharyance Jain, Shailja Gupta, Rama Jamwal, N.K. Bali, Dr. T.R. Gupta, Er. Ashok Kumar Arora, Er. Varinder Kumar Suri, Ramneek Dubey, Vijay Gupta, Sandeep Sharma, Advocate Harsh Vardhan Gupta, O.P. Sharma, and Deepak Daftari.
Residents appreciated the initiative and shared their feedback, complaints, and suggestions regarding water supply issues. TNWS reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with authorities to address public concerns and enhance civic amenities in the area.
