| Manjeet for collective efforts to fight social evils | | | Srinagar, September 23 – Minister of State for Education, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution S. Manjit Singh has said that though the scientific innovations have provided great solace to the human being but these innovations have also put human beings to tremendous challenges so far as our society is concerned. He said keeping in view the challenges, collective efforts are imperative to make society able to face these challenges. Mr. Singh was addressing at a function of inter-district debate held at Government Girls Higher secondary School, Kothibagh here today. The topic of debate was “Ahsas-e-Murawat Kuchhal Deyte Hain Aalat” and was organized by Directorate of school Education Kashmir in collaboration with Department of Information and Mizan Publications. Mr. Singh said that the society as a whole has to fight collectively against the evil designs of such elements who are out to shatter the human feelings by advising couples to go for baby detection in the clinics. He condemned such acts and said that time has proved that girls are shinning in every field and have courage to face any challenge and work with dedication at par with the males. The Minister appreciated the management for conducting the debate and desired to hold such debates and seminars at state level also to explore the hidden talent of the educational institutions. He also lauded the students participated in the debate. In all 17 students of various educational institutions of the valley took part in the debate. Ms Yasmeen Nazir of Government Girls High School Pampore, Ms Nilofar Zargar Government Higher Secondary School, Handwara and Ms Andlib Zohra Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh were adjudged first, second and third respectively. The Minister gave away the prizes to the winners and consolation prizes to all the participants. Among others Director School Education Kashmir Mr. Mohammad Rafi, Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh, Senior Officers of School Education, staff, students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School and prominent citizens were present on the occasion. |
