Hindi Sahitya Mandal organizes literary meeting

JAMMU, Mar 24: A Literary Meeting was was organized by Hindi Sahitya Mandal, Jammu (HSM-J) at the residence of Manto Dutta Sharma, acting Secretary, HSM on Sunday. Hindi poets, Dr. Nirmal Vinod, multilingual poet of J&K presided over the programme whereas Prof. Raj Kumar, Hindi fiction writer & critic was the chief guest on this occasion. Dr. Chanchal Dogra, President HSM-J, Smt. Swarn Kanta and Anita Bali were present in the meeting. Poets of different genres of poetry in Hindi were present in the programme.
Manto Dutta Sharma, Acting Secretary, HSM-J welcomed the poets. A two minutes tribute was paid to the martyrs Bhagar Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru on martyr's day. A poetry recitation session was conducted in which poets presented their poetry based on the themes of different issues related to the contemporary world as well as the Nature. The poets who recited their poetry included Sanjiv Bhasin, Uma Sharma, M S Kaamra, Manto Dutta Sharma, Dr. Chanchal Dogra, Jang S. Verman, Shyam Bihari Jadeja, Vijay Saraf Meenaghe, Dr. Raj Kumar and Dr. Nirmal Vinod.
In his presidential address Dr. Nirmal Vinod said that the poetry of present times have seen a drastic change with the changing times. He appreciated the poetry presented by the participating poets in the meeting. He said the stage poetry must compel the listener to think over the issues raised by the piece of poetry. Dr. Raj Kumar, in his address said that the poets pour out the essence of their inner ideas by integrating different components of diction, metaphors and imagery. The output is always unpredictable and that paves path for further enactment of creative activity. Dr. Chanchal Dogra, President HSM said that the new programmes and events are being reviewed for implementation in the coming days.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Smt. Uma Sharma, Literary Secretary, HSM-J. The vote of thanks was presented by Smt. Manto Dutta Sharma, Acting Secretary, HSM-J.
