Health Minister inaugurates Cath Lab in SSH Jammu

JAMMU, Mar 25: A new state-of-the-art Cath Laboratory was inaugurated at Super Specialty Hospital on 25th of March 2025.
The facility was inaugurated by Ms Sakina Itoo, Honourable Minister for Health and Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare, J&K UT, Mr Arvind Gupta, Honorable MLA Jammu West and Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah (IAS) Secretary to Government, H&ME Department, J&K at a cost of Rs 12.5 crore.
This cath lab enhances services in areas of diagnostic and interventional procedures like ROTA-Ablation, IVUS , peri-operative Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), Transesophageal ultrasound, ASD and PDA closure besides the routinely done cardiac procedures like coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty, Temporary Pacemakers, Permanent Pacemakers, Cardiac re-synchronization Therapy Pacemaker (CRTP) and Cardiac re-synchronization Therapy with Defibrillator (CRTD) and pacing.
This new facility will primarily cater to patients requiring emergency cardiac intervenation. It is pertinent to mention that these advancements will transform cardiac care in J&K UT providing timely and life-saving interventions.
Principal Medical College, Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Medical Superintendent SSH Jammu Dr Rehana Khursheed, Deputy Medical Superintendent SSH Jammu Dr Sanyogita Soodan, Head of Cardiology Department Dr Sushil Sharma, Prof. Dr Dharminder Kumar, Dr. Sanjeev Bhat and other eminent cardiologists, faculty members and administrative staff were also present on the occasion.
