| Woman killed, son injured in militant firing in Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Apr 16: A 50-year-old woman was killed and her son critically injured when militants opened fire at them in their house in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said on Thursday.
A group of unidentified militants entered into the house of Mohammad Aslam Awam at Dunardu village of Kellar, 65 kms from Srinagar, late on Wednesday night and indiscriminately opened fire on them, the sources said.
Rashma died on the spot while her son Awam was critically injured, they said.
Police assisted by security forces has launched a hunt to nab the militants who fled the house soon after the shooting.
No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
