Jammu, Mar 26: The Professor R. Balakrishnan Endowment Lectures commenced today at Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu, under the banner of the Professor R. Balakrishnan Endowment Trust. The event, dedicated to honoring the legacy of the renowned mathematician, aimed to inspire students by highlighting the significance of mathematical concepts.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Sameru Sharma, Principal, GCET Jammu, who emphasized the importance of such academic initiatives in fostering intellectual curiosity and strengthening students’ mathematical foundations. Dr. Heera Saini, Head, Department of Mathematics, welcomed the distinguished speakers and attendees, expressing gratitude for their participation.
The highlight of the event was an engaging lecture by Dr. Sarika Verma and Dr. Manish Kumar from the University of Jammu, on the topic “Linear Algebra – The Secret Behind Technology.” Their discourse captivated the audience, shedding light on the vital role of linear algebra in modern technological advancements.
The lecture series continues to serve as a platform for students to explore mathematical concepts and their applications, reinforcing GCET Jammu’s commitment to academic excellence.
