Natrang Jammu felicitates dignitaries, senior artists

Jammu, Mar 28: Natrang Jammu felicitated distinguished dignitaries and senior artists at the successful performance of Moliere’s popular play ‘Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chala’ presented before the Jam-Packed Abhinav Theater. The play has been brilliantly directed by Sumeet Sharma, a National awardee for theatre direction. The performance was supported by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages.
Mr. Shantmanu, IAS, Addl. Chief Secretary Education, UT of J&K was the Chief Guest on the occasion who witnessed this magnificent performance along with the other distinguished dignitaries including Sh. Suresh Gupta, IFS Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, UT of J&K and Ms. Harvinder Kaur, JKAS, Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Mr. Shantmanu appreciated Natrang’s consistent endeavours in shaping up the cultural landscape of the region. He complimented Director Natrang, Padmashri Balwant Thakur for his tremendous work which is unmatched in both quality and quantity which is a rare paradigm to achieve.
Sh. Suresh Gupta, expressed gladness over watching such a brilliant performance by the highly enthused artists of Natrang. This marked an appropriate commemoration of World Theatre Day. He congratulated Natrang for always striving for excellence in the field of theatre.
Ms. Harvinder Kour, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was also felicitated on the occasion. She complemented Natrang for presenting a wonderful performance with unmatched professional standards.
Padmashri Balwant Thakur felicitated the distinguished guest for their contribution in the promotion of art and culture. He also asserted that Natrang has always strived for excellence in the field and has produced hundreds of professionally trained and enthused artists who are shaping the cultural landscape of the region.
The senior artists who were felicitated included Anil Tickoo in the lead role who is the only actor of the region who has been awarded with SNA’s National Award for Theatre Acting. His presence elevated the overall impact of the performance. He was equally supported by the other senior artists of Jammu theatre including Neeraj Kant, Sanjeev Gupta and Sunita Pandit. Other trained actors of Natrang also received accolades for their flawless performance which included Meenakshi Bhagat, Shivam Singh, Kanan Preet Kour, Mihir Gujral, Aadesh Dhar, Sanket Bhagat, Mehak Chib, Ranjana Prasher Sharma and Kartik Kumar. Lights were designed & operated by Suraj Ganjoo, Sound by Lokesh Chander, Graphics and Designing by Chander Shekhar and Soujanya Shekhar. The makeup was done by Kamal Sharma. Coordination was looked after by Mohd. Yaseen and Palshin Dutta. The hall management was looked after by Vandana Thakur, Adaksh Bagal, Aryan Sharma, Mitali Sarmal, Simran Bhagat, Priyal Ashok Gupta and Prerna Sharma.
