Centre must fulfill its commitment by restoring Statehood to J&K: Sunil Verma
3/28/2025 9:52:21 PM

Early Times Report

Udhampur, Mar 28: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and District President Udhampur, Sunil Verma has reiterated the demand for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, urging the Central Government to fulfill its commitment at the earliest.
He was addressing a public meeting at Narsoo Nallah, where he was joined by Ch. Abdul Rashid, Akash Verma (Youth President), Om Parkash (Block President City), and Sadeeq Mohd (Youth Secretary).
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Verma criticized the failure of the four BJP MLAs from Udhampur district, stating that they have completely let down the people who had high expectations from them. The BJP representatives have done nothing but give hollow assurances," he said.
He further emphasized that the people of Udhampur are now looking towards the National Conference for redressal of their grievances. "The people have lost faith in the false promises of the BJP and are now approaching the National Conference because they believe in our vision and leadership. They know that only the present NC government, under the leadership of dynamic Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is committed to their welfare and overall development," he asserted.
Sunil Verma reaffirmed the party’s commitment to restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s lost dignity. "The NC government has been working tirelessly to address the concerns of the common people. CM Omar Abdullah has taken several progressive steps to ensure development, peace, and prosperity in the region. It is now the responsibility of the people to strengthen his hands and support his leadership," he urged. Concluding his address, Sunil Verma made a fervent appeal to the Central Government to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir without further delay. "The people of J&K deserve to have their democratic rights reinstated. The Centre must fulfill its promise and ensure that J&K regains its rightful status," he said.
The meeting witnessed enthusiastic participation from locals, who echoed the demand for statehood and pledged their support to the leadership of Omar Abdullah.
