GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur concludes celebration of 75 years of Indian Constitution adoption

UDHAMPUR, Mar 29: Government Degree College (GDC) Neeli Nallah successfully concluded its month-long celebration marking 75 years of the adoption of the Indian Constitution. The event, held from February to March 2025, featured a series of activities aimed at promoting constitutional awareness among students.
Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora, Principal, the college organized pledge-taking ceremonies, interactive panel discussions, awareness lectures, a quiz competition, and a poster-making competition. On March 6, an awareness lecture on the framing of the Indian Constitution was delivered by Dr. Mohd. Mubariq Mahire from the Department of Political Science, who highlighted the contributions of visionaries in drafting the Constitution and its role in shaping India's governance. On March 10, a quiz competition was conducted to enhance students' knowledge of the Indian Constitution, with Team B emerging as the winner.
Continuing the celebrations, an awareness lecture on the role of women in the making of the Constitution was held on March 20, followed by a poster-making competition on March 26, allowing students to express their understanding of constitutional values through art.
In her concluding remarks, Dr. Seema Arora praised the students for their enthusiastic participation and commended the faculty for organizing the events. The celebration was coordinated by Dr. Sunil Tanoch (Convenor), with the Department of Political Science collaborating with the Department of Sociology. Mohd. Mubariq Mahire served as the Co-Convenor, while Dr. Akhter played a key role as the event organizer.
The initiative successfully instilled constitutional values among students, reinforcing the importance of India's guiding document in modern governance
