| Mir Lasjan seeks support for Cong-NC candidates | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, APRIL 17: Maintaining that only Congress party has the capacity to work for welfare of the nation, AICC member and senior congress leader Ghulam Mohammad Mir Lasjan today appealed voters to ensure victory of Congress-NC candidates in the ensuing parliamentary elections.
In a statement, Ghulam Mohamad Mir Lasjan said that Congress party since its inception in the country has made every effort to build nation much stronger and it was only because of the congress party that India is progressing day to day.
“The Country today has a greater threat from terrorism and communal forces,” he said, adding that people have to stand against such forces trying to destroy the communal harmony and age old culture in the country.
Appealing voters to vote in favour of Congress-NC candidates in the ensuing parliamentary elections, he said that time has come when people should give a befitting reply to those forces creating wedge between various communities and vote against their candidates.
Welcoming Hurriyat decision of not giving any poll boycott call this time, he said that the leadership of the Hurriyat had also understood that elections are the only way to redress genuine aspirations of the masses.
