JAMMU, Mar 29: A group of 38 divyan students of the School for Hearing Handicapped run by the J& K Samaj Kalyan Kendra, Jammu were presented with mementos by the President K B Jandial & other members of the NGO at a simple ceremony in the school premises held today. This was the first time that a group of deaf & dumb students presented scintillating cultural items at this year's State Level Republic Day Function at M A Stadium on 26th January 2025 in the presence of Lt Gov. Manoj Sinha. They also presented, by sign language with background music, p National Anthem to a huge applause of the audience. Today, the SKK felicitated them. One of the Advisors of SKK, M L Kachroo gave a cash award of Rs 200 to each of the participating students as a token of encouragement.
Refreshments were also served to the students.
Those present on the occasion included General Secretary J K Vaid, Advisor Prem Gupta, Life Member Sunil Sharma & V K Padha, Principal Roshan Bhan & parents of the students. |
