CU Jammu tops Nature Index among Indian Institutions

JAMMU, Mar 29: Central University of Jammu has once again featured in the top position in the latest Nature Index rankings 2025. University has been ranked 22th in Academic Sector and 11th in biological science among Central Universities. Overall, Central University of Jammu achieved top 3rd position in Jammu region and 117th ranked among all types of institutions in Nature Index data as research leaders. Nature Index Research Leaders 2025 released recently (previously the Nature Index Annual Tables) shows the rapid progress of research the university has made on the basis of research output. The Nature Index is an open database of author affiliations and institutional relationships which tracks contributions to research articles published in 145 natural science and health science publications chosen by an independent group of researchers. Basically, the Nature Index is an indicator of high-quality research in the Natural and Physical Sciences (including Chemistry, Life Sciences, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences and the Physical Sciences). In individual subjects i.e., in Biological Science - 68 - Academics, in Physical Science - 94 and in Chemical Science - 133 - Academics, Central University of Jammu established their top position among Indian Institutions.
While expressing his delight at Central University Jammu continued presence at the top position among the Indian institutions, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain said "Consistency is the hallmark of excellence, and we are proud to have maintained our top position among central universities as a leading Indian university. University will continue to strive for academic and research excellence, pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks, to ensure that we remain at the forefront of India's higher education research landscape. He congratulates all faculty members, researchers, and students who are committed to maintaining and enhancing our standards of excellence in academic research.
