| PDP leaders advised to go for their own brain mapping | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 17- Reminding PDP leadership of the historic speech made by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in the Parliament regarding Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, the senior National Conference leader and Minister for Rural Development, Ali Mohammad Sagar today advised for brain mapping of PDP leadership for the severe memory loss. Sagar was responding to the statement of PDP leader alleging that National Conference leaders did not speak a word regarding autonomy in the Parliament. He said, “when your leader Mehbooba was asked to speak in the Parliament on Amarnath land issue, the entire nation watched her hick-ups and she could not speak even a word, in comparison, Omar Abdullah as a true hair of the Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah spell-bound the Parliament by his historic speech vehemently putting across the point of National Conference explaining the special status of Jammu and Kashmir”. Sagar said that Dr. Farooq Abdullah advocated the State’s Autonomy not only in the Parliament but across the country meeting leadership of all shades of political opinions and parties apprising them about the autonomy document. “This mounted pressure on the BJP-led Government and the then Home Minister constituted a committee headed by the then Law Minister, Arun Jaitley to discuss the autonomy with the State Autonomy Committee headed by Chairman, late Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah”, he said and added that in fact the SAC Chairman, Shah and Member-Secretary, Teja Singh along with others had two rounds of meetings with the then Union Law Minister on the Autonomy issue. Describing PDP brain child of BJP who created this party to scuttle the National Conference’s autonomy proposal towards resolution of Kashmir problems said, “instead of favouring the document of autonomy endorsed by the three-fourth majority of Jammu and Kashmir legislature, PDP in an unholy nexus with BJP leadership in New Delhi created a wind-pool of so-called self-rule, which did not see the light of day till today, to dilute the pressure on Centre mounted by National Conference to accept the autonomy document. Sagar said unfortunately PDP came to power in the State and buried the Autonomy Report as they had promised to BJP Government in New Delhi in lieu of receiving power in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the memory of public may be short but it is not that short that they will forget all deceitful commissions and omissions of PDP. The Rural Development Minister said that National Conference in the Working Groups maintained its stand on autonomy and put forth its view-point forcefully. He said both Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah advocated the National Conference autonomy proposal time and again both in and outside the Parliament and Chief Minister, Abdullah has recently written to the Chairman, Working Group on State-Central Relations to resume the deliberations of the Group so that the autonomy proposal of National Conference could be discussed. Sagar ridiculed the PDP leadership for trying to mislead the people by carrying false boogies. “You cannot lead them astray as they know your very background and the duel policy you are championing to grab power”, he maintained.
