4/18/2009 12:00:08 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Batote, Apr 17- Terming the Congress-National Conference regime as total failure, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today exhorted the party workers to expose misdeeds of this coalition before the masses.
Addressing series of public meetings at Batote and adjoining localities in support of party candidate Balbir Singh, PDP general secretary Daman Bhasin today said that except increasing miseries of the masses new coalition has done nothing to solve problems of the masses. He said that Congress-National Conference coalition has been functioning without any program and policies.
He reminded the people that during the assembly elections the NC had promised to recruit 8th pass youth in the police but after attaining power the power has maintained a criminal silence on this promise. He further recalled that all senior NC leaders, during election campaign, had also promised to provide allowances to educated unemployed youth of the state.
“Except promises NC has done nothing for the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said and reminded that during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed many revolutionary steps were taken for the development of all regions and sub-regions.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman SC-OBC cell of the party, H R Chargotra termed this coalition as anti-weaker sections. He said that during the last three months this regime has taken many anti-weaker sections steps and called upon the people to teach a lesson to this regime for compounding woes of the common masses.
He said that PDP would aggressively take up the issues related to the common masses and would not hesitate to take some extreme step to control the coalition. Highlighting achievements of the three year tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, he said that it was during PDP regime that developmental activities were accelerated and all regions and sub-regions were treated equally.
