| Election Observer reviews poll arrangements at Arnas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Reasi, Apr 17 - Election Observer for 5-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency, Thiru K.S.S.V.P. Reddy took stock of election related security and other arrangements with concerned Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) at Arnas today.
ARO Gool-Arnas, S.C.Sharma, ARO Gulabgarh, Mohammed Hanief Malik and officers from police and other departments participated in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Observer asked the AROs to ensure adequate security and poll arrangements well before 23rd, April, 2009 and strict adherence of the Model Code of Conduct by all political parties. He asked for keeping some EVMs reserved to meet the eventuality of break down in the EVM at any polling station as the area is hilly and far-off.
During the meeting, ARO Gool Arnas apprised the Observer that about 137 EVMs have been kept ready for 109 polling stations of the segment including 28 EVMs as reserved machines.
It was further told that 17 polling parties shall report to ARO Gool Arnas on April 19, 40 polling parties on April 20 and remaining 52 polling parties on April 21.
The Observer also visited 23 polling stations at Gool Arnas and Reasi Assembly segments.
