Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 5: In a determined effort to curb illegal transportation of bovines, Bishnah Police Station, Jammu, successfully intercepted a truck involved in bovine smuggling near Ratnal area on Saturday.
Acting on a specific input, the police team stopped a truck bearing registration number JK02CD 8841, which was en route from Jammu towards Vijaypur. Upon inspection, 16 bovine animals were found cruelly tied and being transported without due permission.
The driver, identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Phinder, R.S. Pura, failed to present any valid documents or transport permission. Given the clear directives of the District Magistrate, Jammu, prohibiting unauthorized transportation of bovines, the truck was immediately seized and the accused was arrested on the spot.
A case under FIR No. 28/2025 has been registered at Police Station Bishnah under relevant sections of Section 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act. Further investigation into the smuggling operation is currently underway.
