Jammu police continues crackdown on illegal mining and violations

JAMMU, Apr 5: Under its continued campaign against illegal mining titled "Operation Ploughing", Jammu Police, South Zone, has seized one dumper loaded with crushed stone (Bajri) at Police Post Belicharana. The vehicle was found operating without any valid permission, and immediate action was taken. The District Mineral Officer (DMO) was also informed accordingly as per protocol.
This action, conducted under the close supervision of SSP Jammu, SP City South, and SDPO South, reinforces the commitment of Jammu Police to safeguard natural resources and enforce mining regulations effectively.
Meanwhile, multiple police units across South Zone carried out enforcement and preventive actions aimed at public safety and law enforcement:
P/S Bagh-e-Bahu: One preventive action taken to deter potential offenders.
P/S Channi Himmat: 03 vehicles seized under MV Act for traffic violations.
PP Sainik Colony: 04 challans issued under the MV Act.
P/S Bahu Fort: 02 OGWs (Over Ground Workers) were called for questioning; additionally, 04 motorcycles were seized during preventive checks.
These consistent efforts reflect the Jammu Police's zero-tolerance policy towards unlawful activities, from illegal mining to threats to public peace. The department urges citizens to support these initiatives by staying vigilant and reporting any suspicious or illegal activities.
