IIM Jammu hosts 7th & 8th convocation

JAMMU, Apr 7: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu celebrated its 7th and 8th Annual Convocation with grandeur at the "Rangmanch" Amphitheatre, Jagti Campus. The ceremony was graced by Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO of National Stock Exchange (NSE), as Chief Guest, who delivered an inspiring convocation address.
The event began with a campus tour and tree plantation ceremony by Shri Chauhan, followed by a traditional Saraswati Vandana and ceremonial lamp lighting. Padmashri Dr. Milind Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu, delivered the welcome address, and Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, presented the Director's Report, outlining key milestones and achievements of the institute.
A total of 772 degrees were conferred, including:
499 MBA
114 MBA (Hospital Administration & Healthcare Management)
99 IPM (Integrated Programme in Management)
3 Ph.D.
57 Executive MBA (including Corporate Affairs & Management)
In his address, Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan emphasized gratitude, ethics, continuous learning, and national service. He urged graduates to become agents of change in India's journey toward becoming a global powerhouse.
Padmashri Dr. Milind Kamble praised Shri Chauhan's visionary role in India's financial markets and acknowledged IIM Jammu's alignment with NEP 2020 and "Viksit Bharat" goals. He also highlighted the inauguration of the permanent campus by PM Narendra Modi in 2024 as a significant milestone.
Prof. Sahay recounted the institute's journey since 2016, highlighting international collaborations, research growth, and the recent five-year BGA International Accreditation. He proudly noted IIM Jammu's 42nd NIRF rank and growing impact in entrepreneurship through its startup ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir.
The convocation also witnessed the release of a souvenir and distribution of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to academic toppers across programs. The convocation concluded with the national anthem, formal dinner, and expression of commitment by graduates to contribute toward Viksit Bharat @2047.
Among the dignitaries present were members of the Board of Governors, faculty, staff, and guests. The event was hosted by Dr. Anuja Akhouri.
IIM Jammu's consistent placement success continues to attract top recruiters like Accenture, Wipro, Mahindra, Infosys, and new entrants such as American Express, Gartner, and Nestle. The institute's 100% internship record for the 9th MBA batch stands as a testament to its growing industry trust.
With a vibrant alumni base, expanding global partnerships, and a firm focus on innovation, governance, and entrepreneurship, IIM Jammu is solidifying its position among the top business schools in India and abroad.
