Jammu Bar bids farewell to Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Puneet Gupta

JAMMU, Apr 8: A Retirement Farewell Function was organized by J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu to bid Farewell to Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan & Justice Puneet Gupta on their Lordships retirement.
The Function started with the presentation of Shawls, momentos and bouquet to honour Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan & Hon'ble Justice Puneet Gupta by the team of office bearers led by K. Nirmal Kotwal (President), besides, S. Baldev Singh (Vice President), Pardeep Majotra (General Secretary), Anshu Mahajan (Joint Secretary), Rahul Aggarwal (Treasurer) and bouquets were offered to all the companion judges participated in the farewell function.
K. Nirmal Kotwal, President J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, appreciated the working of both the Hon'ble Judges during their tenure as Chief Justice and Judge of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh.
Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan & Justice Puneet Gupta also addressed the august gathering in the farewell function. Apart from this Learned Members of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Judges of District Judiciary, J&K Special Tribunal as well as many periphery bar Associations also participated in the farewell function.
While addressing the august gathering, President K. Nirmal Kotwal, President J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu said that Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan & Justice Puneet Gupta have remarkable sense of Justice and fairness combined with simplicity, brilliance and respect towards lawyers has been their hallmarks as a Judge of High Court. Kotwal further stated that Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan & Hon'ble Justice Puneet Gupta always treated all the lawyers equally and respectfully during the course of proceedings in Court which qualities of His Lordship was admired by all the members of the Association. Kotwal further stated that Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan & Justice Puneet Gupta has done their utmost efforts to clear the pendency in the Hon'ble High Court. Kotwal also expressed his grave concern to the challenges being faced by the institution of the judiciary, from within and outside the institution, for upholding its independence.
Justice Atul Sreedharan, Judge of High Court of Madhya Padres who had recently transferred from High Court of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh to High court of Madhya Pradesh has also grace the occasion in the todays farewell function.
While addressing the august gathering the Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan thanked the members of the Bar Association for organizing the today farewell function in token of respect to the Hon'ble Judges. Chief Justice further said that Jammu Bar Association had always given him love and affection during his whole tenure of service as judge of High Court and even as Chief Justice of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh.
Justice Puneet Gupta also remembered his past experiences as an Advocate, judicial officer and Judge of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh he also thanked the members of Bar Association.
Balbir Singh Manhas, A.K. Sawhney, Surinder Kour (Senior Adv.) also addressed the august gathering in the farewell function.
Pardeep Majotra, General Secretary J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu compared the proceedings of the farewell function and lauded the role of the Hon'ble Judges during their service tenure as judge of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh.
Anshu Mahajan, Joint Secretary J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu presented vote of thanks to all the participants who participated in farewell function.
