Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 9: Kavinder Gupta, Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, has lauded Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent directive emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism in the region. He asserted that this resolute stance will significantly bolster efforts to eradicate militancy and restore enduring peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Notably, Home Minister Shah, during his three-day visit to the Union Territory, has conducted comprehensive reviews of the security situation and engaged with BJP legislators and party leaders to strategize on counter-terrorism measures. His unequivocal message underscored the government's commitment to empowering security forces to take decisive actions against terrorist activities. In a press release issued here today, Kavinder Gupta stated that the zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, as articulated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is a landmark move. It demonstrates the Central Government's unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace and development in the region, he added.
Highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts, Kavinder emphasized the enhanced cooperation between security forces and intelligence agencies, which has been instrumental in neutralizing threats and dismantling terrorist networks. "The synergy between various security agencies under the leadership of the Home Minister has been exemplary. Their coordinated efforts have led to significant breakthroughs in counter-terrorism operations," he remarked.
Kavinder also noted the government's proactive measures in addressing organizations that have been involved in anti-national activities. He also welcomed the Centre's decision to ban the Awami Action Committee (AAC) and Jammu and Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen (JKIM) for five years under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), calling it a bold and necessary step that reflects the Central Government's firm resolve to uproot terrorism and separatist activities from Jammu and Kashmir.
Reaffirming the BJP's commitment, Kavinder stated, "The BJP stands firmly with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Union Home Minister in their relentless pursuit of a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir. We will continue to back every measure that ensures the safety and prosperity of our citizens."
He urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to support the Central government's initiatives and cooperate with security agencies to achieve the shared goal of a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
