Early Times Report

REASI, Apr 9: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Nidhi Malik today conducted an extensive tour of the Arnas block.
During the visit, the DDC convened a Public Grievances Redressal Camp at the CFC Salal, where she interacted with local residents and listened to their demands, primarily related to water supply, land compensation, and need for new developmental projects. The DDC passed on-the-spot instructions to the concerned executing agencies to resolve the issues raised by the community on a priority basis. She assured the people of Salal that their grievances would be addressed promptly. The DDC also directed the Tehsildar to visit the site again and submit an action-taken report.
As part of the tour, DDC Reasi also visited several educational institutions, including the Government High Secondary School Salal, Government Middle School Chubbi, and Government Girls Middle School Kanthan. She checked staff attendance, classrooms, ICT labs, class-wise timetables, and the academic performance of the schools. She interacted with students, teachers, and parents and inquired about their concerns. DDC Malik directed the school heads to ensure that students have access to the necessary resources for their studies. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining proper hygiene in school kitchens and washrooms. Additionally, the DDC visited the Kisan Khidmat Ghar at Salal and urged the authorities to enroll more farmers in the Daksh Kissan program to boost agricultural productivity and welfare. She also visited the Health and Wellness Center and instructed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Reasi to fill all vacant posts to ensure the center operates effectively and serves the community’s healthcare needs. Furthermore, the DDC inspected the Anganwadi Centers in Salal and Arnas areas and urged the staff to ensure the best possible nutrition for children, focusing on their health and well-being. She also inspected various Rural Development Department (RDD) works, including the composite pit and protection wall completed under the MGNREGA scheme.
Later, DDC Nidhi Malik reviewed the implementation of Integrated Dairy Development Scheme, engaging with beneficiaries of the program. She directed the concerned officers to raise awareness about the scheme to ensure that more people benefit from its provisions.
The DDC also inspected the mining blocks at Arnas, evaluating the current status and ensuring proper management of mining activities in the district. She gave strict instructions to the concerned authorities to take immediate action against any individuals or groups found mining beyond their designated parameters. She directed the concerned officials to submit daily Action Taken Reports (ATR) to keep track of mining activities and ensure compliance with all regulations.
