J&K swimmers receive grand welcome after winning 19 medals

JAMMU, Apr 10: In a moment of immense pride and celebration, the Jammu and Kashmir Masters Games Association (JKMGA) hosted a grand felicitation ceremony at M.A. Stadium, Jammu, to welcome back five outstanding swimmers who secured an impressive 19 medals at the 7th National Masters Games held in Mohali. The medal haul included 7 gold, 9 silver, and 3 bronze, marking a historic achievement for the region.
The event saw a large turnout of supporters, sports enthusiasts, and officials who gathered to honor the champions. The atmosphere was electric as the swimmers were greeted with cheers and heartfelt applause, recognizing their dedication and excellence on the national stage.
Among the dignitaries present were JKMGA President Ranjeet Singh Chib, Secretary General Neete Kaur, Treasurer Ramesh Sharma, Joint Secretary Mousmi Verma, and members Prabal Sharma, Virender Sharma, Meetu Singh, Jyoti Sharma, and Mukesh Sharma. The association's leadership extended their warmest congratulations, praising the athletes for their determination and inspiring performances.
President Ranjeet Singh Chib lauded the swimmers' achievements as a major milestone for the sporting community in Jammu and Kashmir. "Your accomplishments reflect the spirit of resilience and commitment. You have proven that with passion and perseverance, excellence knows no age," he said, urging the athletes to continue competing and setting examples for future generations.
The swimmers, deeply moved by the grand welcome, shared their experiences and expressed gratitude for the support they received.
