DARHAL, Apr 11: Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti with great fervor and participation from students and faculty, paying tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar - a stalwart of social justice and the principal architect of the Indian Constitution.
The event was organized by the college's Literary and Cultural Committee in collaboration with the NSS Unit, under the guidance of Dr. M. Saleem Wani, with the patronage of Principal Prof. Zameer Ahmed Mirza. The program was chaired by Dr. Ghulam Abbas, who highlighted Dr. Ambedkar's lasting influence on India's democratic and constitutional values.
The event witnessed an impressive turnout of faculty members, including Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, Dr. Anzar Ahmed, Dr. Sagir, Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Shahid, and Dr. Sumina, whose active participation added vibrancy to the celebration.
A key highlight was the motivational address by Dr. Atta ur Rehman, the resource person for the event. His powerful speech shed light on Dr. Ambedkar's tireless advocacy for the rights of marginalized communities and his visionary role in framing the Indian Constitution. Dr. Rehman urged students to embody the values of equality, justice, and fraternity, which remain deeply relevant in contemporary society.
The celebration also featured engaging activities such as speeches and discussions, encouraging reflection on Ambedkar's ideals and his vision for an inclusive and just India.
