GDC Dharmari organizes quiz competition

JAMMU, Apr 11: To commemorate the 134th birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, a quiz competition was successfully organized at Government Degree College, Dharmari. The event aimed to inspire the students with the values and teachings of Dr. Ambedkar, a pioneer of social justice, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, and a tireless champion of equality and education.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from four teams, each comprising two bright and knowledgeable students. The quiz tested their understanding of Dr. Ambedkar's early life, educational journey, key contributions to Indian society, role in drafting the Constitution, and his relentless efforts towards the upliftment of the marginalized sections.
The event started with the introductory remarks presented by Dr. Safeer Ahmed Bhat, the convener of Debates and Seminar Committee and inaugurated by Senior Professor, Dr. Shabeer Ahmed Taing who emphasized the importance of remembering and learning from the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar.
After several intense rounds, the competition concluded with Zulefkar and Mubashir Ahmed emerging as the winners. Other students who participated in various teams include Arjun Singh, Nainsi Rajput, Shabnam Akhter, Vishali Bhagat, Bipasha Thakur and Sonia Thakur. All participants were appreciated for their commendable performance and were awarded trophies and certificates of participation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Balbir Kumar, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing committee, participants, and faculty for making the event a grand success.
The event was organized by the College NSS Unit and Debates & Seminar Committee in collaboration with the Cultural Cell of the college under the overall guidance of college principal Dr. Rajni Bhagat. The NSS Program Officer of the College NSS Unit Prof. Ajay Kumar played the role of Quiz Master and Prof. Balbir and Dr. Saleem Ahmed played the role of Jury Member during the Quiz.
