Nazki Number of Sheeraza released

Jammu, Apr 18- Intellectuals community today underscored the need to encourage the work of prominent poets and artists during their life time which would be a best tribute for them and would go a long way in seeking high ethics of their literary works.
Addressing an impressive function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in memory of eminent writer, poet and broadcaster, late Mir Ghulam Rasool Nazki here today, prominent writer of Kashmiri language Pt. Mohan Lal Aash who presided over the function said that the work done by Late Nazki is of immense value. He said Nazki was not only a best poet of Kashmiri and Urdu but also an intellectual of high repute and a popular broadcaster..
Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Secretary Academy said that the people of Kashmir and the writers and poets in general would not forget the literary contribution of late Nazki which he rendered towards Urdu, Kashmiri and Persian languages. He said Nazki was not only a popular broadcaster but also efficient and out-spoken scholar personality.
He said we have documented all the important aspects of Nazki’s life and work in special number of Sheeraza Urdu which was released today. He said that Academy has taken a long term project to publish a series of 100 books on life and work of prominent Historians, Writers, Artists, Poets and other personalities commencing from this year in Kashmiri, Urdu, Dogri, Gojri, Pahari, Punjabi, Ladakhi and Hindi Languages.
Mohammad Ashraf Tak, Head Urdu and Persian wing of State Academy said that this special number of Sheeraza on Mir Ghulam Rasool Nazki comprises of 546 pages and 35 prominent writers of Urdu and Kashmiri have contributed 50 Articles on different aspects of Sayed Nazki.
Dr. Ayaz Rasool Nazki prominent Urdu poet and son of late Nazki also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the Academy for documentation of work done by Nazki.
Savta Bakshi, additional secretary presented the vote of thanks.
Among other dignitaries, Khalid Bashir, Director Information and Zahida Khan Director School Education, Jammu was also present on the occasion.
