AIJKBOO Holds First Triennial Conference in Jammu, Elects New Executive Body

Jammu, Apr 13: The All India Jammu and Kashmir Bank Officers Organization (AIJKBOO) held its first triennial conference today at Country Inn & Suites, Bahu Plaza, Jammu, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s journey. The event saw participation from officer delegates across Kashmir, Jammu, Delhi, Punjab, and other regions, along with several civil society guests.
The inaugural session was presided over by Hon’ble Labour Commissioner of J&K, Shri Charandeep Singh, as Chief Guest. Shri Pawan Kumar, North India Organising Secretary of BMS, delivered the keynote address, while Shri Aadarsh K N (All India General Secretary, NOBO) and Smt. Neelam Sharma (General Secretary, BMS J&K) were present as guests of honour.
In his address, Shri Charandeep Singh appreciated AIJKBOO’s compliance with legal norms, including union registration and mandatory filings, setting an example for other unions. He congratulated the organization on its democratic functioning and extended best wishes to the newly elected body.
Shri Pawan Kumar highlighted the growing importance of the banking sector in shaping India’s development over the next 30 years and emphasized the role of BMS in supporting working-class interests. Shri Aadarsh K N shed light on the challenges faced by UFBU in negotiations with the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA).
During the conference, three resolutions were passed:
1. Appeal for implementation of PLI as per IBA-UFBU agreement.
2. Demand for fresh recruitment in J&K Bank.
3. Approval for enhancement of AIJKBOO membership fee from ₹25 to ₹100 per month.
The conference also marked the election of the new AIJKBOO executive for the 2025–28 term:

The conference concluded with the presentation of the General Secretary’s report and financial report for the last three years, followed by a vote of thanks from the newly elected President and rendition of the National Anthem.
