Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi Flags Off Youth Padyatra on Ambedkar Jayanti

Srinagar, Apr 13: To mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (Jammu & Kashmir), under the aegis of MY Bharat, organised the “Jai Bhim Padyatra” with full fervour and youth participation. The event was flagged off by Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, Hon’ble MoS and Chairperson, JK Waqf Board, from Hokersar Wetland, Zainakote, to Narbal Crossing.
Over 600 youth from various districts of J&K took part in the Padyatra, aimed at spreading the ideals and teachings of Dr. Ambedkar.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Sh. Nisar Ahmed Butt, State Director, NYKS, J&K and Ladakh.
District Youth Officer Khushal Gupta welcomed the Chief Guest and briefed the gathering on the objectives of the padyatra.
In her presidential address, Dr. Andrabi praised the initiative of MY Bharat J&K and emphasized the importance of instilling constitutional values among youth.
She highlighted the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister in building a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047 and called on the youth to play a pivotal role in this mission.
Youth icons Bilal Ah Parray and Khalid Baqal inspired the audience with their messages.
Participants also took an oath on the Preamble of the Constitution to reaffirm their commitment to its values.
Dr. Andrabi, accompanied by dignitaries including Sh. Naseer Ahmed (Range Officer, Hokersar), Sh. Rameez Ahmed (I/C SHO Shalteng), Rahi Reyaz Ahmed (Ahsan Foundation), APA NYK Srinagar Gulzar Ahmed Ganaie, and members of various civil society organisations and youth clubs, led the padyatra.
The event concluded at Nagbal Crossing with a Shramdaan activity and garlanding of Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait, marking a symbolic tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution.
