Cyber cell of Udhampur police recovers Rs 2.67 lakh in 8 financial fraud cases

Udhampur, Apr 15: In a commendable effort to safeguard citizens against online fraud, the Cyber Cell of District Police Udhampur has successfully resolved eight cases of financial fraud, recovering a total amount of Rs 2,67,211, which has been refunded to the respective victims.
According to police sources, the Cyber Cell received eight complaints from individuals who had fallen prey to various forms of online financial fraud. Acting swiftly, the dedicated team of cyber experts at District Police Office (DPO) Udhampur initiated prompt investigations and coordinated with financial institutions to reverse the transactions.
Their timely intervention and technical proficiency led to the successful recovery and restoration of the entire defrauded amount back into the complainants’ bank accounts.
Udhampur Police has reiterated its commitment to ensuring digital safety for citizens and urged the general public to stay vigilant against cyber threats. People are advised not to share personal or banking details over unknown calls or messages and to report any suspicious activity without delay.
