4/15/2025 10:49:48 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 15: In a significant academic achievement, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has been officially accepted into the University Affiliation Program (UAP) of the globally renowned CFA Institute, USA. This recognition places IIM Jammu among an elite group of institutions worldwide that align their finance curriculum with the rigorous standards set by the CFA Program.
The affiliation marks a major step forward in IIM Jammu’s mission to deliver globally relevant education in the field of finance and investment management. By integrating the CFA Program’s Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) into its MBA curriculum, the institute aims to enhance its academic offerings and ensure its students are career-ready for high-demand roles in investment banking, equity research, portfolio management, and corporate finance.
Under this partnership, IIM Jammu students will gain access to a wide range of benefits, including exclusive CFA scholarships, preparatory resources, and industry-aligned content that will bolster their competitiveness on the global stage.
Speaking on this milestone, Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, expressed his pride and optimism:
“This affiliation is a testament to our commitment to academic excellence and to producing future-ready leaders equipped with world-class knowledge in finance. It aligns perfectly with our vision of providing globally benchmarked education and will open up numerous career opportunities for our students.”
Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics at IIM Jammu, added:
“The collaboration with the CFA Institute will bridge the gap between academia and industry, enriching our curriculum and empowering students with specialized skills needed in the dynamic global financial sector.”
Dr. Praveen Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Finance and Accounting area, has been designated as the principal contact person for managing the relationship with the CFA Institute under the University Affiliation Program.
The collaboration is particularly significant as it embeds practical and applied financial knowledge directly into the MBA coursework, ensuring that students not only learn theoretical concepts but also understand how to apply them in real-world scenarios. This initiative will further strengthen IIM Jammu’s reputation as a hub for financial education and leadership development.
With this strategic affiliation, IIM Jammu reinforces its commitment to delivering top-tier business education and providing students with unparalleled opportunities for growth, recognition, and success in the global financial landscape.
