JAMMU, Apr 15: Devan Singh former sarpanch Panchayat Rathian District Udhampur joined National Conference in presence of the Honble Minister Javed Ahmad Rana, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest Ecology and Tribal affairs and Provincial President Jammu Province Mr Rattan Lal Gupta at Udhampur.
Welcoming Devan Singh into the party fold, Javed Ahmad Rana described the National Conference as a mass movement that has all along stood for the just cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and strived for development and progress of the J&K with a sense of commitment.
He hoped that with the joining of Devan Singh the party would be further strengthened at the grass roots level.
Mr Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu Province urged the people to support the National Conference, as they believe it is the only secular party that can fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for a brighter future for the generations to come and work towards equitable development, progress, peace and brotherhood in J&K.
Mr Devan Singh pledged to carry forward the mission of the National Conference in transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a peaceful and progressive area with devotion and dedication.
Speaking on the occasion, Babu Rampal former minister and Central Zone President and Vijay Lochan, Chairman of JKNC SC Cell, they lauded the National Conference’s historic role in safeguarding the interests of depressed classes. They said that while the previous regime overlooked the SC community’s concerns, NC remains steadfast in its commitment to their upliftment.
Those who were present included: Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Ramparshotam District President Udhampur Rural, Akash Kharka District President Udhampur Rural YNC and others.
