JAMMU, Apr 17: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the week-long Mega Surgical Camp, at Doda and Kishtwar.
Camp at 3 different locations- Associated Hospital of GMC Doda, District Hospital Kishtwar & SDH Bhaderwah, being organised by Rotary International in collaboration with District Administrations of Doda & Kishtwar and Department of Health & Medical Education, will witness superspeciality and general surgeries by specialized and experienced Doctors in different fields.
Addressing the gathering at SDH Bhaderwah during the inaugural ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor extended his felicitations to members of Rotary International, officials of District Administrations, and Health & Medical Education Department, Doctors, Nursing Staff, volunteers and everyone associated with the noble endeavour.
“Health for All is top priority for me and J&K administration in the past few years has ensured that everyone has access to effective and quality health services. We have improved physical infrastructure and invested in essential services for timely and appropriate healthcare.
There is a single resolve behind improvement in physical facilities – to provide better protection to the people during health emergencies and to ensure healthy living and well-being for people of all age groups,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated that, under the guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the J&K Administration has made significant strides in strengthening the healthcare sector.
He said, the entire health system has been sensitized in the last five years to ensure essential healthcare and develop infrastructure for noncommunicable diseases like mental health and psychosocial support in every district. We have been diligently working on key areas such as ensuring availability of Doctors, access to affordable Drugs, enhancing Diagnostics, and improving Delivery Mechanisms, the Lieutenant Governor added.
“I assure you all that promoting safe, healthy and better life will always be the priority of the administration,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor urged the people to identify, isolate and report divisive elements threatening peace and harmony.
“Our neighbouring country is making desperate attempts to disrupt peace. Security Forces, J&K Police and Administration are working together to combat terrorism and its supporters. We will not rest until we completely wipe out terrorism and its entire ecosystem from Jammu Kashmir.
‘Don’t Touch the Innocent and Don’t Spare the Culprit’ is our policy. Every section of the society must join this fight against terrorism,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, J&K is witnessing unprecedented development across the sectors, with more than Rs 1.50 lakh crore worth highways and tunnel projects being executed in the UT of J&K.
He further emphasised on facilitating private investment to tap the immense tourism potential of Bhaderwah and improve tourism facilities in the region.
