Career Counselling Seminar Enlightens Biotechnology Students at GGM Science College

Jammu, Apr 17: The Department of Biotechnology, GGM Science College, in collaboration with Rapture Biotech Group, organized a highly insightful seminar on Career Counselling for B.Sc. Biotechnology students on April 17, 2025. Held under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the College, the event focused on guiding students regarding mandatory summer internships and a variety of short-term training programs relevant to the evolving biotech industry.
Approximately 100 students from Semester 2 and Semester 4 of the Biotechnology (Major) program participated in the seminar, which received an overwhelmingly positive response.
The seminar commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Neha Mahajan, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology, who emphasized the significance of early career planning in a competitive and ever-changing field like biotechnology.
Prof. Kiran Bala, Head of the Department, also addressed the gathering, appreciating both students and speakers for their active engagement.
The session was led by expert resource persons from Rapture Biotech, including Dr. Ambika and Er. Mayank Bhardwaj, who delivered enriching talks on industry trends, higher education avenues, research pathways, and emerging fields such as bioinformatics, clinical research, and pharmaceutical sciences. Their presentations provided students with practical insights and clarity on the range of options available post-graduation.
One of the most engaging aspects of the seminar was the interactive Q&A session, where students directly interacted with the speakers to ask questions about career opportunities, skills in demand, and internship possibilities.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Gourav Gupta, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to Rapture Biotech for their time and valuable input. The event was also graced by faculty members Dr. Nancy Gupta, Dr. Richa Sharma, Prof. Kirti Sharma, and Dr. Arti Heer.
The session proved to be a motivational and informative experience for the students, equipping them with a clearer vision for their academic and professional future in the field of biotechnology.
