Combined Annual Training Camp by 1 girls battalion NCC Srinagar commences

NAGROTA, Apr 18: The much-awaited Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC), organized by the 1 J&K Girls Battalion NCC Srinagar, commenced on April 17, 2025, at the NCC Training Academy (NTA), Nagrota. The camp, which will run until April 26, 2025, is being conducted under the leadership of Col SP Tiwari, who serves as the Camp Commandant. The event has brought together approximately 450 girl cadets from various regions of Jammu & Kashmir, offering them a unique opportunity to train, bond, and develop the core NCC values of discipline, teamwork, camaraderie, and community service.
This year's camp is particularly important as it aims to select the Srinagar group team for the prestigious Thal Sainik competition, shooting competition, as well as the selection of the best cadet for the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 and cultural team for the SNIC Srinagar 2025.
A wide range of activities is scheduled throughout the camp, including:
Drill practice
Rifle firing
Physical training sessions
Obstacle training
Social service initiatives
Guest lectures on topics such as Artificial Intelligence & Cyber Security
Practical demonstrations on firefighting and disaster management
An educational excursion
The first day of the camp was marked by a warm reception ceremony for the cadets upon their arrival at the NTA Nagrota. On April 18, the Camp Commandant officially inaugurated the camp with an address, briefing the cadets on the training schedule, administrative protocols, and the high expectations for the camp. The cadets have shown great enthusiasm and are actively engaging in all activities, with the organizing unit committed to ensuring that the camp is an enriching experience, aimed at nurturing well-rounded individuals and future leaders.
