| Illegal digging of earth for shops basement apathy Udhampur Municipality | | |

Udhmapur Apr19- Right in the heart of town, the illegal quarrying of earth is being done in number of municipal owned shops in Gole market and other areas is in progress for the construction of basement of shop but the local Municipality authorities appear to be oblivious of the unauthorized activity going on for the past few days.
According local resident Raghav due to apathy of municipality and local administration local shopkeepers are illegally digging earth for the construction of basement without taking nay permission from municipality or concerned authorities. He added that it is quite amazing that despite it that local resident informed matter to municipality authorities and concerned ward members nothing was done to stop the illegal work.
Alleging municipal authorities for having nexus with shopkeepers illegally constructing basement without permission Paras Ram of Slathia chowk said that one of local photo state shop owner is illegally digging earth for basement and also making illegal encroachment but despite information given to local coroprator and municipal authorities no action was taken on ground . Coming heavily upon municipality he said that it has become defunct due to which city has been grabbed by encroacher. He alleged that district administration is also mute spectator and has left city at the mercy of God.
When municipal authorities were contacted in this regard they denied having given permission to any one in this regard and assured to act soon. They added that municipal shops or private shops allotted to persons can not start any activity at the site unless it was issued the letter of allotment and the building plans, including permission for construction of basement.
