4/20/2025 9:30:09 PM
Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Apr 20: In a significant step towards strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in the district, and in line with the priorities of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, AYUSH Pharmacist course has been introduced for the first time at the Ancillary Nursing & Midwifery Training (ANMT) School Ramban.
This pioneering initiative aims to create a skilled workforce in the field of traditional Indian medicine. Alongside the ten students enrolled in the newly launched AYUSH Pharmacist course, over 90 trainees from other healthcare streams including Female Multi-Purpose Health Worker (FMPHW), Medical Assistant, and Laboratory Assistant courses are also being introduced to the fundamentals of the Ayurvedic system of medicine.
According to Dr. Masood Iqbal Zargar, Senior Medical Officer AYUSH, who has been engaged as the AYUSH Lecturer at the ANMT School, this initiative will play a vital role in filling vacant positions of AYUSH Pharmacists at AYUSH Arogya Mandirs-previously known as AYUSH Dispensaries and later as AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres.
"This initiative is not just about addressing manpower gaps," Dr. Zargar added, "it also aims to promote the ancient Indian System of Medicine, known for being natural, cost-effective, and free from harmful side effects-thus making it accessible and beneficial to the larger population.
