Early Times Report
SUNDERBANI, Apr 20: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nowshera District, today organized a grand and dignified function at the District Office in Sunderbani as part of the ongoing 'Dr. Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan', commemorating the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. The programme was held under BJP's nationwide campaign to pay tribute to Babasaheb's monumental contributions to Indian democracy, social justice, and constitutional values.
Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Jammu North and State Vice President, BJP J&K, attended as the Keynote Speaker and address to a large gathering of party leaders, workers, and citizens. He described Dr. Ambedkar as a visionary leader whose work laid the foundation of modern India. "Babasaheb was not merely the architect of our Constitution-he was the architect of social transformation. His ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity continue to guide our nation," Shri Sharma said.
He emphasized that the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has been unwavering in its commitment to fulfilling Dr. Ambedkar's vision. "The party's development model and governance policies are directly aligned with the constitutional principles drafted by Babasaheb. Programmes like Digital India, Stand-Up India, and targeted welfare schemes are reflections of that vision," he added. Shri Sharma encouraged party workers to actively promote these ideals at the grassroots level and ensure their impact reaches the most marginalized.
District President Shri Preetam Sharma, who presided over the event, called upon all party functionaries to draw inspiration from Dr. Ambedkar's life and make social harmony and constitutional awareness central to their public outreach.
DDC Chairman Jammu, Shri Bharat Bhushan, commended the BJP's commitment to ensuring justice and dignity for all through the application of Ambedkarite principles in public policy.
MLA Sunderbani-Kalakote, Shri Thakur Randhir Singh, highlighted how the Modi-led government has expanded welfare coverage for SC/ST communities in alignment with Dr. Ambedkar's goals.
DDC Sunderbani, Shri Rajinder Sharma, spoke about implementing inclusive policies at the local level and ensuring grassroots governance rooted in equity.
District General Secretary Shri Vikram Sharma praised the overwhelming participation and urged karyakartas to carry forward the mission of 'Dr. Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan' with dedication and discipline.
The function concluded with floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar and a collective pledge by attendees to uphold the values of justice, empowerment, and national unity. The BJP continues to honor India's icons not only through remembrance but through decisive, transformative action.
