4/21/2025 10:36:33 PM
Early Times Report
NAGROTA, Apr 21: The 1st J&K Girls Battalion NCC, Srinagar, organized an insightful lecture on Cyber Security on April 21, 2025, as part of its Annual Training Camp at NTA Nagrota. The session aimed to educate the NCC cadets on the growing challenges posed by cybercrime and the importance of digital awareness.
The lecture was delivered by Sh. Mohd Yassen Kichloo, Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime) and CICE, Jammu and Kashmir. Drawing from his vast experience in law enforcement, Sh. Kichloo addressed critical aspects of cyber security, including emerging threats, preventive strategies, and the ethical use of digital platforms. His talk provided an in-depth look at cybercrime trends, data protection, and the role of digital tools in safeguarding information. Using real-world case studies, he highlighted the practical challenges faced by law enforcement and the innovative solutions to combat cybercrimes.
The session was well-received by the cadets, with a dynamic Q&A session following the lecture, which enriched the learning experience. Sh. Kichloo also discussed the intersection of traditional disciplines like botany and forensics, encouraging researchers to incorporate secure digital methods in their work.
The Camp Commandant, Col. SP Tiwari, praised the lecture and acknowledged the importance of fostering a culture of digital responsibility among the cadets. He stated, "This session has equipped our cadets with essential knowledge about cyber security, empowering them to navigate the digital world with greater awareness and caution."
In addition to the cyber security lecture, a practical demonstration on fire fighting was conducted by the Fire and Emergency Services for the NCC cadets of the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC). The demonstration focused on spreading awareness about fire safety, promoting rapid response actions, and strengthening community service.
The event successfully combined theoretical knowledge and practical skills, ensuring that the cadets received valuable insights into both digital security and emergency response techniques. The training will further enhance their preparedness for real-world challenges and reinforce their role as responsible citizens in the community.
